Slicker Brush

To allow a “one-stop”grooming shop, we have started stocking some of our favourote brushes and accessories.

Slicker brushes are the perfect brush to use on breeds such as Cockapoos, Maltese, Labradoodles etc. the soft wire bristles help to get deep into the fur to stop tangles and brush out any knots. A slicker brush is what your groomer will use during a parlour appointment.

To use the slicker, slowly and gently brush the hair in the direction of the fur growth. The bendy pins will pull away loose hairs hair leaving a smooth and neat coat. If your dog is comfortable with the slicker, press gently on the tool to remove more fur from the undercoat. The pins of the slicker are bendy to prevent discomfort, however, do not press them into your dog’s skin. To remove a tangle, isolate the fur and gently pull the slicker through the tangle, starting from the outside and working in as the fur de-tangles. To ensure your dog has an enjoyable grooming session, start gently. Pause or end the grooming session if your dog becomes agitated.
